Why Democratic Compromise Has Died by Frank Casper.
“Republican Theocracy” argues that American democracy faces threats from a mix of forces, mainly the religious right, but aided by mainstream conservatives and the “Illiberal Left.” Ultimately, “Republican Theocracy” argues that these movements, driven by the mutual rejection of Enlightenment principles and an embrace of a “post-truth” environment, are actively working to dismantle the existing democratic system.
Those of you familiar with the book, it has gone through a series of revisions and has been near completely rewitten.
The link provided is to the e-book version. The paperback will be available Jan 10th.

Join the Fifth Principle Project. It’s free. The Fifth Principle Project is an organic grassroots initiative to gather into community Unitarian Universalists who want to reinvigorate the right of conscience and renew the democratic process in the governing of our denomination.
Another important and timely work by this author.
The paperback version of “Republican Theocracy” is available as of today.
I hope our members will read and review my book on Amazon.

Hmmm! I wonder if Frank Casper is also writing a book titled something like “The Democratic Party Theocracy.” I would think that UUs would strive to be more balanced in their perspective on complex issues. For those who are, you might go to a book by James Davison Hunter. He is Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture at the University of Virginia. The book title is: Democracy and Solidarity, On the Cultural Roots of America’s Political Crisis.
It’s clear you’ve not read my book, so you’d have no idea how the two are related.
